In other English speaking countries do users typically use their version of Google or the .com? Is there any available data on this anywhere?

Can't think of any reliable sources of information off the top of my head.

Had to think about what I actually use for a moment here... Its google.com not the co.uk for me, if I want something England-based I'll usually just add UK to the search query...
Anecdotal only of course!

Doesn't google automatically redirect you to the country specific google? I always type in the .com but unless I type in the 'no country redirect' - www.google.com/ncr I get sent to the .co.uk results. So I'd imagine most people use their local google.

It's only if I type in google.com that it redirects to google.co.uk. If I type in google.fr it goes to the .fr
How does this work for people in other countries? If you're in France and type in google.com does it redirect to google.fr?
I'd be interested in Canada and Australia as well, I know we have a few from both places.

Firefox does this... irritating, I try and get to .com and it keeps sending me back to .hu, Geo-targetting gone far too far IMO!

Yes Google does redirect for local search.
If you want to get around this and go to Google.com just type Google
Just add /ncr to the end of "www.google.com"
I use Google.com.au
Are the search results different depending on your country?or is that only if you choose to 'show only pages from Australia' ??
