Thought this was an interesting article... it lead me to become more aware about using words like 'ladder' in my Steps SNGs articles (to choose one example). My view is that this is something for the future rather than a huge influence now, though ensuring that you are clear on associating words within your topic now can do you no harm.

many things going on in Google in recent days: caffeine engine, real time search etc. but nothing last forever and in future we may have new king, good candidate for this role is Blekko: blekko: how to slash the web on Vimeo
I found this interesting:... since there's a regular debate around here about whether you should put your sites on/link from different IPs or C-classes.Followed IPs - this is our highest correlated single link-based metric, and shows the number of unique IP addresses hosting a website that contains a followed link to the URL.
That's a great article. I'm still pretty new to the advanced side of SEO so it'll take me a while to really digest most of it, but it does seem to have some pretty key implications for the future.
Sorry, I'm pretty new here. Is there a good thread to read up on that point about the issue of different IPs or C-classes?

It is a good article, and I hope Google weighs on page factors much more heavily than external factors whenever possible. There are limited ways in which Google can effectively rank pages without relying on manipulated backlinks, so this could end up being quite significant in the future. It sure looks a lot like keyword density but it is very different at the same time.
It all comes back to offering truly informative and unique content. My hope is that one day Google can effectively deliver results that are based on true quality and relativeness and not SE manipulation (as is widespread in gaming and other similar niches).
With all this said, Google is still an absolute mess now (imo).
