Default Wild rankings over last week?

I was wondering if anyone else has been seeing some crazy jumps for their rankings? Across a few sites, for pretty tough terms, I have experienced the following...

Term ranked about 7th for quite awhile, dropped to 8th, then 9th, now it is 5th. This is a well indexed site with some good links.

On another site, ranked 5th-6th for very long time for a particular term, now ranked 2nd. This site is even older and has tons of good links.

I have the same thing happen on another site too.

Anyone else? I am not complaining, that's for sure, and no I haven't really done anything that would provoke these changes afaik.

It's not just you bud. Something weird is definitely going on. I've been seeing drops on sites that have had the same rankings for 12-24 months. Even some newer sites that were just ranking well a couple days ago have dropped off of the radar.

I had just checked a newer site (new to me but not actually new) yesterday and it was ranking nicely. Now it's not even on the 1st page. It seems like Google has made some major changes in the last few days. I've had some decent gains as well but they don't really compensate for the other changes (yet at least).

LOL, just noticed this. I have one site (kinda new) that ranks #1 in Bing and Yahoo (big deal right? lol). It was doing in google last week and now only an inner page is ranking (on the 4th page!).

Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch leading up to a PR update, if they even do those anymore.

We are pretty far overdue for a pr update so I'm guessing that is it - I see a lot of changes in my sites day to day both up and down.

It's been so long since the last one and I can't remember for sure but things usually get screwy while they are updating and then stabilize to pre-update rankings (or close to them) once they are done right? That's my hope anyway. I do know a few members on here (bastards!) that will be pretty happy when they check their analytics until things get back to normal.

There has never been a correlation between a toolbar PR update and rankings.

Nothing new for me either. A few bumps up and down, but mostly sticking to where everything should be.

Yes, but it's largely been related to stuff not discussed here that happened in google over the last week and a half
