Link to sitemap

Do You guys link from other sites to your main sitemap xml

curious who does and if it is productive.

Nope that is not what its intended for. Create a html sitemap if you want to physically link to it, but even that is not necessary if you have a good internal link structure.

Once you submit it in webmaster tools you will be good to go. Google is very good with downloading it on a regular basis and you can even request it.

Thanks for the replies.. I was just curious from an seo stand point if Google would give it more "Page value" if the xml sitemap was linked around in which in turn would give all your links within your site a better standing.

I would think that it would be "good" from an seo standpoint to do this, but awful when compared to alternatives. I think a sitemap would be the last place I would ever want to get external links to.

If anything, wouldn't that look unnatural? Who would ever link to an XML sitemap?
