Are one-way links better?

I have a poker related blog and thinking of using it to build some links to my main site. Currently these would be one way links as my main sites does not link to the blog. My question is whether I could/should freely link back from main site to blog without loosing any SEO value?
I am not putting a link to my blog here lest someone might think this post is just a dumbass attempt to promote my blog . I just want to know if one way links are more valuable than reciprocal ones.

One way links are much more valuable than reciprocal links. Google can tell when a link is reciprocal, and these links have been heavily discounted

White sites are basically websites that are SEO friendly, legitimate, high quality, and relevant. The opposite of white sites are known as black hat websites. These are the kind of websites search engines hate. They are built mainly to manipulate the SERP results through low quality content, spammy links, and usually link selling e.g. link farms.

By saying white sites, i meant the sites that has got no penalty from Google and other search engines. And eventually has not gone into sandbox of Google.

I think even links from sandboxed sites still count. When the site eventually comes out of the sandbox, the links will be worth something. I don't mind any link as long as its permanent, relevant, and definitely one way.

Yes one way links are better than other links. One-way links are links to your site from other sites. It is use to increase traffic on your site. The no of pages are linking to your site so directly you can get a traffic on your site. In this type of link thousands links are created on your site. Write a more and more links to site but it is more impotent, links are also write topic related it can more effective.
