Anyone buy expired/dropped domains, put them on a unique class c and place blog posts on them and link back to your own content?
I see competitors doing it, i'm guessing its effective, probably cheaper than buying links as well.

for sure the ones doing it won't admit it over here![]()
Yeah. I see that too.
I'm guessing it could work. But I wonder if it's long term. Like the one saw today. Some old domain with Pr4, that used to be some kind of newspaper. Now it's a casino review/blog page. With links to a casino bonus page.
I can't see that google would pick up on that. But if they do. What would the consequences be.
Not a sustainable strategy as far as I know.
Google will definitely notice that Site X (which dropped, a flag in itself, I'm sure) now has completely different content and outbounds. The backlink profile for Site X will also deteriorate - sometimes very quickly - and I would think a pattern of links from such sites would be problematic.
Even if it is sustainable, the money / time cost of getting a good domain, the host, redoing the design and adding content probably starts to come pretty close to meeting or exceeding the cost of buying a link (or even buying a abandoned (but not dropped) poker-related project from someone on PAL and freshening it up).
What a sneaky strategy lol I guess it would probably work, but i'm not sure if its worth the effort (or the cost). It would end up costing a fortune in the long run with domain and hosting fees, as well as the time involved.
