English content for .de/.nl sites

I was really curious to know that is there any problem with English content to .de or .nl domains. i mean is it okay to write English contents for .de or .nl sites. thanks

To attract English visitors? I tried it once but it failed, have a feeling it had to do with the extension but didn't do extensive testing.
