He deserved a banning. Everything about him screamed potential scam (and I speak from a pretty deep experience of dealing with online poker fraudsters).
There's the letter of the rules and the spirit of the rules, and the way he handled himself on the forums in his brief time here seemed to definitely violate the spirit.
I have plenty of respect for how RE handles their business, I just disagree here. You get 30 posts by contributing useful posts to ongoing discussions, not by bumping 30 months/years-old threads with semi-nonsense responses within two hours. Those sorts of shortcuts are red flags for me, personally.
