Default SEOmoz - is it worh the $99/month?

Hey just curious if any at PAL is signed up for SEOmoz? Is it worth it? If you could list pros/cons that'd be awesome too.

    Cheers

I think I used the 30 free trial and didn't see the point in it.

I think the seomoz blog, toolbar and OSE is awesome, and if it wasn't available for free then I'd definitely pay for the Pro membership to have it. But I can't justify spending that money on all the gimmicky stuff in the Pro version, I also found it pretty complicated and messy to use, tracking campaigns etc.

I also thought about doing a review of it on my blog (with sub-aff links) but decided I didn't want to promote something that I didn't even think was that good.

Majestic and ahrefs subscription for backlink analysis is better imo (and costs way less).

I'm a big fan of ahrefs.com personally. I did have an SEOmoz subscription at one time, but I didn't feel like it was worth it. I think it's more a difference of style/opinion than anything concrete though.

I signed up for the 30 day free trial too, but didn't continue any further. I think their membership fees are way too expensive. The best thing about seomoz in my opinion is their free blog, and Open Site Explorer. I can't justify paying $99/month just to use Open Site Explorer without any restrictions, especially when backlinkwatch.com is completely free.

Yeah same as everyone else I think it's overpriced. Majestic/Ahrefs are better than OSE imo and cheaper too.

Look at if you would use the other SEOmoz tools. If you're just getting a subscription for the link data, then Majestic is the better option.

Does backlinkwatch.com still work? I thought it was based on Yahoo link data...

Just throwing this out there, I've had memberships at all the well known ones, the only one I keep now is SEO Dojo - Great guys and gals, all with good information and some nice tools, sheets, etc.

Yeah, SEO Moz is all about form and clever marketing.

Kind of like PokerXFactor in the poker training market. Nothing substantial is on offer, at least nothing that can't be done with free tools.

Their OPSE is awesome, but I use the free version all the time, and it works fine (even with minor limitations).

It used to run painfully slow for me, and clicking around the backend was frustrating. I didn't feel that I was getting my money's out of it either so I stopped after a couple of months. The tools are cool, but even still $99 seems a bit steep.
