Default One of my sites looks semi-panda'd, Can someone check my content quality?

    Hi,

I think one of my sites got semi-panda'd in the last update (Jan 19th). I'd just like a few people to give me their opinion on some of my recent news articles that I outsourced if that's ok.

I don't know how scrupulously Google penalises ontent but your opinion would help me a lot in finding out whether theses articles are below the pada quality threshold.

    Thanks.

I know you've prob spotted this, and I don't know what site you are talking about so may not even be relevant, but I thought I'd put a link up here just in case it had passed you by. The Jan 19th update was apparently aimed at above the fold ads.

    Hi Notspot,

Ye I know about that, but I really doubt the site in question was affected by the ATF update.

Does anyone know 100% for sure there wasn't a Panda update also on the 19th?

It would just be very strange to have a site affected by the ATF update when I have a low number of ads above the fold to begin, plus none of my other sites (which use the exact same theme, layout, banner:content ratio) were affected.

I don't think it would be related. There was talk of having too many ads being a negative panda signal since the first big panda update that was rolled out mid Oct. If ads were the problem you'd have already known about it I'd think.

That article you've linked to is referring to 1% of sites, basically MFA sites that have the maximum # of ad units above the fold and you're required to scroll down the page to actually read the content.

Do you think if content was the problem I would've know about it?

I'm starting to think the Panda has gone into stealth mode. There hasn't been an official Panda confirmation since mid-November. No one knows for sure if there has been another since then, or whether Google will confirm any more.

Something definitely happened a few days ago. Whether or not it was Panda idk I've been focused more on my sites then these stupid updates that are returning ridiculous results.

I'm not really sure how you would like me to answer that.

Is it in Google's interest to officially confirm every Panda rollout? I mean do you think they'd launch an update and intentionally not say anything to put people off?

Up until recently they were NOT announcing the vast majority of changes. For the past couple of months, however, they have been publishing a monthly recap of usually 30 or so algorithmic/ranking/interface/user experience changes on one of their blogs.

Whether they'll simply incorporate any Panda iterations in that list remains to be seen.

I can certainly agree that Google isn't going to share everything, but I don't know what they want to hide with Panda or similar algorithmic filters.
