    Default Reconsideration request reply

I filed for reconsideration again and got about the same reply as last time heres what they said. I did'nt expect it to work it but was my last thing to try to get things worked out. I guess I'll be moving the site to a new domain.

Dear site owner or webmaster of Odds Tracker – Compare and Track Live Sports Betting Odds,

We received a request from a site owner to reconsider Odds Tracker – Compare and Track Live Sports Betting Odds for compliance with Google's Webmaster Guidelines.

We reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the webspam team that might affect your site's ranking in Google. There's no need to file a reconsideration request for your site, because any ranking issues you may be experiencing are not related to a manual action taken by the webspam team.

Of course, there may be other issues with your site that affect your site's ranking. Google's computers determine the order of our search results using a series of formulas known as algorithms. We make hundreds of changes to our search algorithms each year, and we employ more than 200 different signals when ranking pages. As our algorithms change and as the web (including your site) changes, some fluctuation in ranking can happen as we make updates to present the best results to our users.

If you've experienced a change in ranking which you suspect may be more than a simple algorithm change, there are other things you may want to investigate as possible causes, such as a major change to your site's content, content management system, or server architecture. For example, a site may not rank well if your server stops serving pages to Googlebot, or if you've changed the URLs for a large portion of your site's pages. This article has a list of other potential reasons your site may not be doing well in search.

If you're still unable to resolve your issue, please see our Webmaster Help Forum for support.

    Sincerely,

    Google Search Quality Team

Well thats an ok reply to get as it means your site is algorithmically penalized.

Do what everyone told you. Switch to the basic template and take out the odds script. Have 0 affiliate links and ping it. Maybe get a quality link or 2 using branded text. Then see what happens. If it is still not fixed, then you will need to:

    1. Wait for the filter to be lifted (can take more than 1 year for link related filters).
    2. Contact the sites where you have spam links and try to have as many removed as possible.

Having nothing to lose at this point I'd for sure take off the script and see what happen. This would only be for the purpose of sourcing whether or not that is the problem. Without knowing that could go on forever doing all sorts of other things which would never work. Attempting to eliminate that makes the most sense.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

I got my mind made up about moving to a new domain I only posted this because people have asked me in the past what did google say the last time I filed but as far as whats wrong with the site I think we all know it's the links and not the script.

NOw I just got to learn more about the process of moving the site to a new domain I don't want to screw that up .

How do you know that when you have done no testing without the script. In your last thread I specifically mentioned how a site I owned with an odds script was penalized and didn't rank for anything. When I removed the odds script it came back with full traffic within a few weeks.

The last thread you created you got actionable advice from a number of affiliates on steps to take. Looking at your site it appears to me as if you completely ignored all of it.

I'll try removing the odds script first and see what happens I hope it works although then I got the problem of and odds site that I can't put odds on lol.

Not really, you'd then have the task of how to feed the odds in a way Google likes, solve it and then the option to attract great links when blogging about it across the web and discussing it at webmaster forums, maybe even eventually getting a Google rep to comment on it.

Having similar problems with one of my sites, where the cause is definitely the link profile. Unfortunately, I can't delete the bad ones because it was caused by a link wheel job someone did for me (at least that's what I think), and I don't have the data to delete them, the guy who did it has disappeared. So I guess the only way to do do this is adding quality content and build more (good) links, right?
As a matter of fact, I have already started it and I see some pages reappearing in the SERPs.
It seems that the effect is rather so that pages for long tail kws will rank low and start climbing bit by bit, instead of shooting back up to page one (where they used to be) once the algo penalty was lifted?

You could file for reconsideration and tell Google everything about the link wheel guy who disappeared. I'm sure some people would object to my suggesting you throw someone under the bus but it sounds like he left you high and dry -- I don't think you owe him any favors based on what you have just shared.

I actually did consider doing this but I did'nt think it would have done much it seems like a reconsideration only works if its a manual penalty.
