Video sitemaps

Just a quick question, is there an approval process that must take place to get video thumbnails to show up in universal search?

So far i have made a video sitemap and submitted it through webmaster tools.

The sitemap file is here: http://www.gamblingcritic.com/sitemap-video.xml

I assume that the formatting is correct, assuming everything is correct, how long until i get video thumbnails in google search?

It took me at least a month but I don't believe you're guaranteed to get a SERP listing.

However it also knocked my original result to the top of page 2 and the video result came in at position 3. I removed the video after a couple of months and my original result jumped straight to #1. I've also seen very similar behaviour with Google Places.
