Date appearing in in SERPS

I've just noticed that a date is appearing before my Meta description in the Search Results.

It's certainly not something I've put in there and seems to be appearing automatically. Is there any way to remove this?

The site is running on Wordpress if that helps at all ...

It's most likely your template I've found. If you go to your template editor, look in the header.php folder and look for some php code that will define your title.

It could also be an SEO plugin, check them for a setting that will enter date into all description tags.

If its in your description, than most likely its the date that is displayed in your actualy post ie Posted by Mike on Thursday September 6th.

These dates can have positives and negatives obv depending on how you use them

If you want to delete you will need to go into the page or post php file and remove

<?php the_time('l, F jS, Y') ?>
