is there an average amount of words affiliates should aim for when writing SEO descriptions. how many words should we aim for, more keywords the better?

and also whats the average length of titles for your pages?

I aim to keep titles under 10 words at most, but generally look to keep them at 8 words or less.

I don't really have a word limit for meta descriptions, but I go for two succinct sentences about the page.

most of my pages are 6-8 words. however my descriptions i feel are lacking so i will change this

Just did a big post on this, and other on page topics.

Any search engine worth caring about should support the “description meta tag”. It provides an explanation of your web page content and allows you to write a proper description of it. This text is often used in the SERPs, so good descriptive text may increase the page's click-through rate. W3C does not set the length of description meta tag, however most SEO experts advise using no more than 200 characters of plain text.

x - Just use common sense. If you page is about xyz blue widgets than use xyz blue widgets. Your description should be to get people to click your link and if it reads like everyone else..odds are your not going to get as many clicks.

Some title tags I do specifically for keywords only, whereas others I will use the first two - three words for my primary keyword followed by something that draws attention to my link if I can get away with it.

As for length of description two lines outta cover it. so thats like I dont know maybe 20- 25 words although I have seen people use less.
