    Default SEO for Pagination

At my site PokerTrikz, I have an interesting SEO question that I'm not sure about. Right now I have my articles directory being split between pages. You can see this at these links.

    http://www.pokertrikz.com/articles/
    http://www.pokertrikz.com/articles/page-2/
    http://www.pokertrikz.com/articles/page-3/

The content on these pages is going to be changing whenever new stuff gets uploaded. It will just push it all back 1 page. It will automatically create a /page-4/ when the list gets so long. But at the same time, none of this content is unique except for when it originally appears on the /articles/ page.

Should I keep my Title and Description tags the same on these? I know Google doesn't like it when you have duplicate Title and Description tags on multiple pages. Someone even suggested going for different keywords for each page. Such as Poker Articles on page 1, Poker Strategy on page 2, Poker Guides on page 3, etc. I think that will look kind of weird to my visitors though and none of the actual content on the pages will be guaranteed to have correct keywords.

Any thoughts on how to handle this whole situation?

Heres 2 tools that you can use
    1) Keyword tool - this is for checking keyword density on a page
    2) Page tool - this is for optimising the page title and key words type in a phrase you want to search for and it gives you the score,

Using the density tool to get the keywords from your page and messing around with the page tool for search terms you can get the pages perfect for the excat search term you want.

The problem is that content is always shifting so what is correct for /page-2/ now, will be totally new content after 10 articles have been uploaded and everything will be shifted to /page-3/.

You are describing an archive of content. I am assuming that each content item has it's own URL as well. In other words, by havign this blog/archive format, you create duplicate content so you want to noindex the archives and you want google to pay attentiont to the actual content page with it's own SEF URL.

Is there a reason I wouldn't want page rank passing to these pages though? Noindexing them seems a bit drastic. If they are noindexed, will Google still follow the links to the articles?

Maybe I am missunderstanding, but you have the exact same articles posted twice correct? Once on the actual article page, once on the archives page. If you no index the archives, but index the actual article pages, google still follows links from the original article page but doesn't bother doign it from the archives. From an SEO standpoint, you want google to focus on one page onbly, and that's the actual atricle page. That's the one that's optimized, not the one called "page 4".

No, the articles are only ever posted at once place.

The /articles/ page is essentially just /articles/page-1/.

All new articels get listed at the top of the first page. When a new article gets posted it goes to the top of the list. There are only 10 listings per page, so everything will get moved back 1 space anytime a new article is listed.

Let the pagination proceed normally. Don't worry about titles, noindexing, PageRank, etc.

These pages will help your site's crawling. These are not the kinds of pages you should want to rank for anything.
