I asked this question already in my thread but there was no answer. Maybe you can help Imteaz? Does each article submission require unique content. And can I submit an article I already have posted on my site? For example could I post an article "The benefits of a good rakeback deal" to several article directories or would this be frowned upon by th directories/search engines?

Why would anyone need 1000 article directories? I'm not being facetious; I honestly don't know what you could accomplish with 1000 article directories that you couldn't accomplish with 5 or 10. (Or 1 or 2.)

I have had reasonable success with a list of 100 article directories submitting an article to each in order to obtain backlinks.

Right so it's more about the quality of the article directory than the quantity (starting to see trends with this obviously). So I assume therefore that submitting unique content to a handful of quality article directories is a much better approach.

One last question on this issue. Is there any problems with cross posting an article from my site to an article directory?

Lep, in my opinion you should keep the content on your site as unique as possible. Otherwise you're competing with article directories for visibility, and guess which sites will have more value in a search engine's eyes.

1000 directories? Useless deal, for sure. 80% of these directories are 0 PR. Half of the rest do not allow HTML in the body text, only reference box in the end of article. 75% of the rest have set "nofollow" on the links. Some of them say that they place nofollows for gambling related links in their Submission Guidelines. Only few of the rests has no editorial approval, so there is no any guarantee that your article will be consider as appropriate.

In other words, there are up to 20 article directories really worth attention. I do not believe in submission to 1000 directories. Also do not forget the duplicated content issue and no guarantee of submission and indexing before using such service.
