Using non unique blog content

Hey guys I added a blog to my site with the main purpose of just adding pages to the site and using it to link back to other more important pages of the site to help with seo.

Right now I pay someone to write one post a day usually a preview of the best sports betting matchup of the day. This is fresh unique content but i think the money I spend on this is probably better spent else where.

So what if I use non unique content this way I dont have to pay anything for it and I can add a lot more posts.

Also what are the rules for this. Can i for example use the previews in my sports stats widget or feed I dont know what to call it but on my stats page here they have previews for each game can I copy and paste them on to my blog or is that frowned opon

Scraping content from other sites is not as productive as posting original content. Some people get away with it but a lot of blogs that replicate content are flagged as spam.

You could produce unqiue content by scraping many different posts and put them together on one page. That will work most of the times, but it doesn't look good.
