    Default need google analytics help

    hil all

I'm sure there is really simple answer / way of doing this but ...

I'd really like to be able to analyse my analytics stats for my forum site in 3 different ways - breaking the whole site analytics into two distict groups

I have all my forum pages etc under site.com/forums/

while its nice to see overall spikes or trends - if those are happening because of an increase in forum traffic ... I know that in real ROI terms thats not a spike or trend thats leading to more money

therefore I'd like to be able to view my overall stats something like this ...

    xyzsite.com overall stats

    only xyzsite.com/forum/ total stats

everything on xyzsite.com that isnt in the /forum/

this would mean I could see the more useful trends on the non forum pages

at the moment its possible / likely that site traffic increases by 10% overall but in reality the money pages could be down by 20% masked by increase on forum of 30% (oversimplified but hope you get what I mean)

is there any way to define the splits mentioned above excluding all /forum/ traffic ?

the single page trends are too specific - but the overall trends are too broad

cheers in advance to anyone who has a solution

You can create a filter to segment only the traffic within /forum/ (Include only traffic to a subdirectory). To exclude traffic to the forum you can create a 'custom exclude filter' (Filter Field: Request URI, Filter Pattern: ^/forum/)

so the new filtered profile will have only forum stats?

so we need to create another profile with the site but excluding the forum?

    cheers
