Default My Sites Don't Convert Well

I'm wondering why my sites get traffic, but don't convert well on players.

Sites like www.shinepoker.com, www.winonlinecasinogames.com, and others get over 500 uniques per month, but just don't give me any players.

Maybe we can share some of our best ways to convert players?

Players click banners much less often then they do text links.
I'd suggest styling the link colors a standard dark blue. In the opening paragraph try ending it with something like.. to get started playing whatever online visit the XYZ Casino Website

    *bold text linked

On pages this can't be accomplished in the open paragraph then break the first two paragraphs with a centered catchy and bold text link.

If you have bonus codes that will work for tracking (depends on site) then use these in place of links, make sure they are clear, use bold, highlighted or underlined text saying players who sign up using code xyz receive blah blah.

Conversion focus is not to difficult, there just needs to be clear and non intrusive calls to action early enough on the page, and on long pages then a few of them.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

I now use this for all my text links http://www.dijksterhuis.org/wordpres...d-link-plugin/

Coversions have soared with no effort - I get RMP's on some rooms that I don't even push anymore. The only conclusion can be they are clicking these text links on old articles

Hey pp, do you recommend this on strategy, news, etc pages or just pages talking about online poker rooms?

I don't tend to link drop early in articles, but do have an affiliate link in just about every page I write towards the end, or where it drops in naturally.

well the first thing you need to do with winonlinecasinogames.com is replace all the banners with thisisvegas.com banners immediately .... just kidding.

I agree with the above statements that links can do better. I think if you remove the 5 125x125 banners and shift everything up your site would actually look much easier on the eyes. It would add more emphasis on the table you have and that's where people want to look but your banners seem to be getting in the way. At least this is my opinion. I think your 5 banners are just in the way, you can keep the 120x600 one on the right, either remove the banners and the space below the logo or change this 'real estate' completely. Here I would probably pick one casino a month and write a review for it and just have one 125x125 banner. Under the banner you could have a link under it which would probably help your click rates. On the left could be your customized write up about the casino and why it is say casino of the month if you want to just change these monthly.

If you want more feedback just ask but again this is mainly my opinion and it will help to hear other points of view and you can decide what is best.

use text links and calls to action.

do not rely on the banner for the clicks. well placed, easy to find and click on text links.

    Hey,
    1. Use calls to actions
    2. Say that your offers are time limited and exclusive
    3. Talk about how much money someone has made at 1 of the sites
    4. Tell your visitors they can play for free without depositing
    5. Say that poker celebrities play at the sites
    6. In lieu of banners use screenshots of the game with embedded links to the poker room
    7. Host Youtube videos of you playing a the sites and use a third party tool to embed your affiliate links in the top corner (forget the name but I could dig it up for you)
    8. Give them an incentive to sign up like an ebook, a free poker training video, some pics of a poker hottie

    Hope this helps.

    9. Only for the more advanced, but I think you're ready => Use boobs to sell a click.

Pretty effective don't you think ...

It depends the objective of the site and page. Most sites I design are conversion focused. I'll open a strategy article with a short paragraph sell on the best place to use the strategy and include the link, then I'll ad some clear title/header text and start the article below it.

On the sites I use for just gaining traffic and kind of making a contribution, then I'll link where appropriate in the article and usually not an affiliate link but a link to one of my conversion focused sites.

On winonlinecasinogames.com - in addition to the great suggestions that others have made, I'd lose the top links that go to other sites. You already have those links in your footer and that's where they belong. A lot of visitors will mistakenly think those are internal links. Personally, I would be frustrated if I clicked on "gambling strategy guides", thinking it was an internal link, and then another site opened. I'd probably abandon both sites.

Those top links are eye-catching and should be reserved for your conversion-focused pages. I'd suggest adding "Casino Reviews" and "Casino Comps" pages that simply list/link the reviews and bonus articles you have.
