Default LOL @ DoylesRoom SEO team.

In the latest Doylesroom affiliate newsletter, they mentioned that they were exchanging links with affiliates on doylespokerroom.com (not main site) ". . . in an effort to help your affiliate site grow".

I contacted them and they informed me that "all I needed to do" was install a sitewide footer link to doylesroom.com (main site).

I informed them that I do not give out footer links.

They responded:

Hi Nick;

Our SEO department is interested in the website-footer.

Play online poker

Regarding the URL of the links eventually they will be placed at [doylespokerroom.com] they will contact you back shortly.

Best regards,

So the people running the link exchange can't even tell me which page my link will go on.

I respond:
I already said I do not give out footer links. I guess we are not on the same page on this. Good luck with your SEO efforts.
They tell me "Thank you for your intentions." And we part ways.

Basically - They are helping out gullible affiliates by running a 3 way link exchange scheme and making them give up a sitewide footer link for a link on a link page that doesn't exist yet on a crappy site.

Wow, they sure got their shit together. This is the type of crap I expect from ww.play-online-poker-super-poker-page-com, not a real poker website.

What a bunch of hacks. Lol. I hope they didn't spend much on this "seo team."

Isn't +EV a term for loosers?

It's disappointing to see a poker room go out to try and take advantage of inexperienced affiliates by offering a weak link in return for what potentially become a very valuable one. I've not worked with them before, but it makes you wonder how much they care for their affiliates if they are prepared to take advantage of them for their own benefit.

Thanks for highlighting that one Nick.

Nice find Nick..and although I agree with you Greg its no different than the BS links you can get from Pokerlistings or any of the affiliates who prey on the beginners. I dont know how many link swaps I've received lately from more experienced affiliates who think I dont know any better and must be desperate for links.

how many links did we give away when we first started because nobody would link to us if we didnt give them a homepage link in return.

Its really no different even if they are an affiliate program.
