Default How to write articles for links?

I have made a couple of deals for writing articles in return for getting links to my sites.

Since I haven't done this before, I would really appreciate some advice on how many links I should get, where in the articles I should place them and if there are anything else that I should consider before writing the articles and finalizing the deals.

Usually an acceptable rate is one link per 4-500 words. It doesn't really matter where in the article you place your link.

If you write quality articles you shouldn't run into too much trouble.

I agree with Hazo. Some webmasters prefer more than 400 - 500 words though. Then I'd take 2 links for 700 - 800 words. It doesn't really matter where to place the link. It's important that it's surrounded by relevant keywords. If you write about hold'em postflop strategy and put a "pokerstars bonus code" in the middle it's not that powerful.

    I think it matters.

If you write for a site that has an RSS feed that is posted on 100 other sites, placing your link in the first paragraph means it's probably going to be included in the RSS description, and will show up on those other 100 sites.

There are the biggest click-trough-rate. In my opinion with the article-links you get more visitors but it doesn't help your seo as much as posting to "PR" homepages.

Links in articles seem to be a more "natural" way of linking to Google and other engines. It's up for debate which link holds more value but a good link within relevant content on a site that is reputable is a great way to build some links to your site.

    Kind Regards,

Of course in-content-links are natural and will improve your site ranking.

But if I have to choose for example a PR3-4 homepage footer link or a PR1 article link I will choose what my goal is. If i need more visitor I will definitely choose the article link.

If I'm getting links to my 7 card stud site and I have a choice between a link in a PR1 7 card stud rules article and a footer link on a PR3-4 homepage that targets "poker bonuses" or whatever...I'll take the article link all day long. I'll take the article link over 5 of those homepage footer links. Homepage links are over rated IMO and footer links on a homepage just scream "I bought this, please devalue it".

I had not talking about different topic between the homepage and the article, of course it would change sides.
