Links from article directories

I know that google recently lowered alot of the link juice recieved from link directories, but does anybody know if article directories were affected as well? How do you guys rate the juice given by article directories in comparison to the links from actual websites of equivalant page rank? Do you think that it'd be possible to make page 1 for a competitive phrase such as poker rakeback with only article directory links?

lol no, if it was that easy to make competitive phrases by article submissions it wouldn't be for very long now would it?

So you think that backlinks from a pr3 website are much more valuable than those from a pr3 article directory? What if i had 500k unique backlinks, all from article directories. Surely i'd have to rank highly irrelevant of where the links came from?
