So many links from google images?

I was looking at my awstats today to see that I have 208 links from google images and only 65 from the regular search.

Anyone know why this could be?

People are using the images on your site most likely.

People are searching for images in Google image search and finding yours. If you have not taken steps to prevent hotlinking to your site you should do so, as you may see many hits from forums and blogs that are not really sending traffic to your site.

It's okay to be found through Google Image Search, as they'll load your page into a frame and show people your original content in proper context. I allow Google Image Search to index my pictures, but I block other domains from hotlinking to my images.

it only means, numerous people uses your images in different purposes.

Viewing your images also contributes at your site's traffic.

It can also be used as a technique for you to gain traffic.

but I do recommend more traffic coming from SE organics. -- This will only proves that your site/blog has a quality content.
