Default Do you update your sitemap regularly?

Everytime you make a new page on your site do you then update your sitemap.xml and resubmit it to google or will it pick them pages up itself next time it crawls your site?

And also say you make a page for July promotions and you have a few sites on it do you think its better to make a seprate page for each site or have them all on one? Like there useless after July so do you delete them or do you leave them up? What im asking here is, is the more pages google has on you better than less?

    Cheers

Second part of your question I'll let someone else answer, but yes I do update my sitemap everytime I make a new page.

If it's wordpress and "posts" I let the plugin take care of pinging it.

Having more pages is not necessarily good for your Google search visibility. The video OPC links to is actually one of Rand's better videos (some of his advice is just absolutely awful but he gives pretty sound, solid reasoning for his suggestions in this video).

If you're going to leave the content up, make sure it serves a purpose. Otherwise, it may eventually be ignored by the search engines. Which is not to say you cannot find plenty of old, outdated content in the search results -- but there's not a whole lot of value to leaving outdated stuff online unless you can connect it to more recent or upcoming value.

Is it just posts that the WP Sitemap plugin takes care of? If so, how do people go about adding their pages to the sitemap?

    Cheers

It also does the pages and I think you can manually add/exclude other pages to it in the settings.

The plug-in takes care of all pages and posts for Wordpress. As mentioned, you can configure it to exclude certain areas (i.e. - archives, or certain categories). Additionally, if you have pages on your site coded in html, you can manually add those via the plug-in control panel.

It is a phenomenal program. In the interest of fairness, it does glitch from time to time, but it really makes life easier, with respect to building and updating a sitemap.

The glitches was why I've stopped using it. Way to many times it created bad urls and I was finding tons of sitemap errors in webmaster tools for pages which didnt exist. If you use it you definatly want to keep tabs on your sitemap so your not pinging google with the wrong url
