Default Setting up home on a dropped domain

I've just starting building a new site on a dropped domain.

Having done a site search in Google, I can see that the old domain had a fair few pages indexed and I'm just wondering what the best way to deal with this is.

Obviously those indexed pages won't be going anywhere now seeing as I'm putting my own information up. I'm guessing some kind of 301 re-direct would be in order to keep Google happy. But how do I go about seeing up a 301 for about a hundred pages on my domain that now don't exist ... while still allowing Google to index my own pages which I'm planning to put up there?

    Cheers for your help

I had the same problem... So I wrote them an email requesting review of my new site.
(can be done from webmasters tools panel).
Was reviewed very quick. Thanks to Google

Here you go although I doubt you would need to file a reconsideration. If the pages were just removed I would be redirecting them as soon as possible, more than likely to your html sitemap than anywhere else. others may have a different suggestion.

Thanks - I guess that would make sense. If I set up a 301 to the sitemap, presumably Google will find my new pages from there.

Do I need to set this up for each individual page that is currently listed in Google? Or is there an easier way of setting up the .htaccess?

Im sure someone has a way of doing them at once but I prefer to redirect each page individually so I know its done.

I don't necessarily mind doing it that way, it's just that I'd be wary of missing any pages out, so if anyone knows how I should be updating my .htacess file, I'd certainly appreciate it!

    Thanks
