    Default How do I make a subdomain?

    Hey guys I was wondering how I go about making a subdomain? I wanted to do one for a blog like blog.mysite.com See my site is with PAS so I dont host it myself so im wondering if I make a blog can I point blogger to the subdomain I make has anyone done this?

    If the domain use PAS's nameservers (it sounds like it does), you will have to speak with them about it, since you won't be be able to change your DNS settings yourself.

    Regardless of whose DNS services you use, you have to define the sub-domain on a Web server somewhere -- that can often be done through a Web-based interface but if you're paying for a low-budget package you may not have that option.

    Although some people host their subdomain files within their main domain hierarchy (the subdomains get their own subfolders), I believe it's more common for each subdomain to have its own "account" or "sub-account" complete with its own directory, its own log files, etc. There may be some shared resources between a subdomain and parent domain.

    Once you create the subdomain then you worry about the DNS.

    However, you may find some advantages to using Blogger or Wordpress for your blog.
