    Default .biz domains

Does anyone have any experience with .biz domains and how they convert? I've seen a few premium .biz domains available, but I'm a little wary of buying/developing a .biz domain as the general seo talk ive read is not favorable. i'm curious as to how they convert when they're ranked highly.

I have no idea if they work but they instantly make me think about them work from home/get rich quick type of sites. You'll often find the .co.uk or .us domains not taken yet.

Well with .co.uk I feel like I'm alienating a massive amount of a target market. My guess is that clickthroughs and conversions on .co.uk are much lower than regular domains unless you're specifically targeting the UK. Last time I tried to buy a US domain it was restricted (on GoDaddy). Anyway, I'm more interested to see if anyone is successfully ranking and getting good conversions on a .biz domain...

Just what others consults in domain extensions. In my own opinion, ".biz" is more likely to ".info" then definitely its not recommendable.

I think the general consensus by domainers is that .biz is dead, but that is between domain resellers. I only own one .biz (www.InternetPoker.biz) but havn't really tried promoting it. I put up a simple site just to age it a little. It's gone to PR1 recently although little traffic as no incoming links etc.

Google have clearly indicated that there is no perticular penelty regarding SEO for different Tld's, however, using a less well known Tld such as .biz may harm your conversions as people don't see it as being as credible as the more well known .com's, .net's or org's etc
But there is no reason why a .biz wouldn't rank well for its keywords.

As you have said prefer much using the most credible site extensions rather than using other extensions that was already marked as a spammy ones.

Generally I'd stay away from .biz but I'll be honest, I've seen them rank for some very competitive keywords.

net-games.biz was ranking 1st for 'Free Games' not so long ago and it's still on page one now.

It's not the only one I've seen either in a competitive niche

In some case, you have another good point mate. maybe it says that it's not about what your site extensions is but rather how do you promote your sites instead. Isn't it?

    Looks interesting.
