Default Does Google just not like one of my sites???

    Hey guys

I threw up three new sites recently that were all exact match domains.

    Tom Dwan

    www.betfairbonus.org

    Sam Farha

Now all three were bought in the same week and I just put a tiny put of content up, a few links from my sites and that was it.

Now the first two ranked in Google on the first and second page respectivley for their search terms. The last one (samfarha.org) has never appeard and I can't understand why.

Now there isn't much content on Sam farha compared to the other two but again the other two ranked before I put anymore content on them.

So is there anyway to check and see if the samfarha site was owned previously and is blacklisted or something like that?

    I'm at a loss.

There are almost no content on the Farha site compared to the other two, and since you have some patterns in both incoming and outgoing links I wouldn't be surprised if you would need to "prove" that the site is "good" before it starts ranking.

I understand what you're saying and I'll be getting some content up in the next week or so. i just didn't want to spend lots of time on it if it was blacklisted or something.

Both of the other two ranked really well with the same amount of content and then I started adding to them.

Hope you have hosted these 3 sites in 3 servers. Google spiders will take much time to find out some IP's.

Build some backlinks for this site definitely google will find and index it.

    best of luck.

I think they will be fine once you get some more content and links. A few questions come to mind though -

    1. Why don't you host these yourself? I don't know the ins and outs of hosting on blogger or Wordpress hosting but I'm not sure why anyone would do this? You need to make sure you have control.

    2. Unless you just like to write about players and have so much money you can just have fun putting extra time into this type of site, I'm not sure why anyone would? There is a millions poker player profiles out there, and although they get visits etc. I have trouble believing they make real money. Now if you are not out to make these sites produce, then fine. Otherwise I would love to hear your ideas on monetizing these?

Seem like your time and effort would be better spent finding something original or something that at least will make a nice ROI.

Just my two cents, so take it FWIW

I actually thought about this some days ago when i found out that broker had launched these sites. One thing they may be good for, is giving link juice to your more "bonus or rakeback" sites but apart from that it will be hard to make money from sites like these.
But then again, since the blogs are visited by people with interest in poker it is possible to get them signed up at a new room if you have some nice promotions and call to action.

Player profile sites if done well can actually be a nice little earner. Along with current poker players, you also tend to attract a lot of people who haven't played online poker much if at all, and can hook them a lot easier. The sites are also very easy to maintain, and the content pretty much writes itself. They're also great for getting e-mail addresses.

However you need to go with more in your face advertising methods. I only looked at the Tom Dwan site, but conversions are going to be very low if he even gets any. The site also needs to be structured a lot better to make it more visitor-friendly.

And as Randy said - get on a separate host, not Blogger or whatever.

Interesting thread, I have PhilIvey.org sitting on a one page wordpress install and was thinking it could be worth doing something with since he made the FT for november, but I agree it seems like a lot of work for who knows what type of reward.

I'd rather FT just overpaid me for it

Your site is apparently blocking robots. I cannot determine how but until this page works you will not be indexed by any search engine that honors robots exclusions because your robots.txt file is disallowing a page called "search" which, when I try to load it, looks exactly like your home page.

If you disable the search feature and change that robots.txt file, I think you'll get your site indexed (but don't hold me to that because this is an unusual situation).

You'll know the problem is resolved when AboutUs.Org can create a page for your site.

ON EDIT: You appear to be the first owner for the samfarha.org domain, for what it's worth. It has no history at archive.org (but those can be blocked or removed) and whois.domaintools.com reports no significant history.

Why do people block archive.org? I've purchased several old domains lately that said "blocked by robots.txt"
