Default Do Long Tail Keywords Get Signups?

Lately I been thinking about getting #1 in google some long tail keywords. Some really easy ones I know I can get #1 in a week or 2. My question is since their long tail and don't get that many searches per month.

Will those keywords bring me any signups?

Yes, they will be highly targeted.

    No
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

Why not? They will certainly convert, maybe not as well, but I definitely don't see why "no" is the correct answer here.

Well it obviously depends on the phrase.

"Iam filthy rich and want to blow my roll on roulette how to deposit a lot of money" would convert pretty well even if not so many people actually search for it.

While "Iam a cheap bastard and want to play poker without ever making a deposit" isnt so good.

Anything that brings traffic brings signups, even completely off topic stuff. Poker is a generic thing that can appeal to anyone, so no traffic is bad traffic. The only issue is how many of your web/link resources do you devote to ranking #1 for something.

In general, longtail searches are the best searches because they are more specific. If someone is searching for something very specific regarding poker, as long is "how can i not ever sign up at a poker room", if you give them what they want they will be in a favorable mindset to whatever else you site provides (aka, ways to signup at cardrooms).

A well done website though should not be targeting "a" longtail search but rather targeting longtail searches in general.

Thanks, I think that answer my question. It's more than "a" long tail keyword phrase. It's more like 6 or 7. I was thinking of doing a mini site with a news section. Anytime I need to write an article about an upcoming tournament or promotion it will go there. So over time it will have a lot of pages indexed however from the start it will only have around 5 or 6 pages.

Because the thread sat for exactly five hours with no responses. By answering "No" it gave someone a reason to respond why I was wrong or how their opinion is different and we now have a thread.

It is likely several others read the thread and didn't have the energy to answer what appeared to be a silly question to them.

Most all of us, except those brand new or those blocking google or something, get a lot of our traffic from long tails and in most cases some way or another make money from that.

I just don't see how the answer to the question could be anything other than it depends. If your page is a mile long and with no bold text somewhere in the 7th paragraph you give a bonus code well even with 10,000 visitors for all sorts of terms you might not ever get a conversion. If the page is highly focused and has a compelling call to action, or a well displayed link to a conversion page which is exactly what that person is looking for then it is more likely to convert.

The question about will it convert because it is a long tail, I'm not so sure this is really what was being asked.

I think the question might actually have been "are long tails worth targeting?" though I'm not sure if that is what was being asked or not. The will it convert seemed like just a silly question and perhaps is reason the thread sat with no responses so long.

Thanks, yeah you are right. I did word my question wrong. Are long tails worth targeting? would have been a much better question to ask. Forgive me for wording it wrong. I was kind of tried since I haven't been sleeping lately. From the answers I have read I will make my mini site this week.

This is a really great answer 321, thanks.

Longtails are the easy money in this industry, but I wouldn't target them - instead focus on building a big resource site. If you build a website with 500 quality unique pages (note: not the same pages everyone else writes over and over again) I guarantee your analytics account will be flooded with hundreds of daily long tail searches, and you will make money.
