Ok so this is good for someone who builds a high quality site then? I am all for a program that devalues link building because it is not how it should be. Some of the top results for online poker etc. are a joke when infinite better sites exist.

Also, is this good or bad for new sites as a whole?

I'm very happy that I spent a lot of time creating valuable content and branded sites instead of creating one mini- or bonus site after another.

This new mandatory personalised searching that is being forced down our throats by Google is only a boon for the established sites, and the apocalypse for new sites. You can create a great site, with a awe inspiring User Interface topped with the finest content that makes the visitors yearn for more. They will wake up in the middle of night and their whole body screams for more content of your site. All of that is pointless if they cannot find you. People will not get new fresh sites thrown to their faces but the same old same old they always search. Google is always preaching that they want organic search results whilst in fact they just made a elaborate and redundant favourites/bookmarks page with this grand new invention.

How is this bad for new sites? The only time I see this mattering is if some searches "poker" every day to get to PokeStars and would never see a new site that might be bigger or something. If someone is searching longtails wouldn't everyone be back on an even playing field? I don't know, it seems like their examples in the video made it very unclear what would happen to the "competition" aspect between websites. They just said it would differentiate between words spelled the same with different meanings. The video made it seem like the only way it would matter would be if your site isn't what the user wanted anyway because it was the wrong TYPE of content.

Does anyone see this having a HUGE impact on bonus code sites?

For example user searches "full tilt poker" then visits the homepage... downloads and then searches for the bonus code, won't the actual rooms site rank top or artificially higher then it normally would?

Also with the amound of people that use or find wikipidea won't they start, ranking, well not ranking, but "appearing" higher for poker related terms?

I know the longtail field is profitable, but it only reaches so far. How many signups would you be getting in the long run for longtailing vs short tailing?

You can kinda play with it by opting in and signing into your google acct.

Usually no matter what poker term i search for 4flush comes up first, cuz boy I spend a lotta time on that purdy site :P lol.

Then ppl I write for tend to come up next..

I usually sign out so I can see accurate listings.

So I'm assuming YES, bonus code sites, and well all of us are going to see lotsa changes.

Whether this will have a long-term impact on how Google ranks results in "default" mode is anyone's guess. However, having access to all that click data will give them opportunities to evaluate search results in ways people are unused to.

They will undoubtedly use the click patterns to develop better indexing and filtering technology to help people find what they are looking for better than in the past.

In my mind, the most immediate impact will probably be on rankings reports. For example, if you're using software to check Google rankings, will that software's inability to handle the "secret cookie" be used to block it in the future?

I am sure people who write programs to check rankings are trying to figure out ways to handle the secret cookie. Whether they succeed, whether they need to succeed, only time will tell.

    I don't see it.

If I seach for "best poker rooms" and I click on titanpoker result.
Will this result get to 1st position next time I search for, lets say, "poker rooms"? with just one click?

I supposse google should take more than one click to be definitive for this "to first position movement".

Will this information be shared for non-cookie SERPs?

Just from my own personal test it looks like if you finish clicking on a page deeper in the results ie: #9-15, that page gets a huge bump.
