Then this would mean that newer sites benefit from this, completely contradictory to what some people seem to think. No?

I was actually just coming back to edit it and say it was an authority site, and for the same search from days past so that might have played into it. Dunno, I haven't done enough reading on it just from general testing.

I would not look for any magic formula. It's going to seem random in a lot of ways. If you search on the query often enough, and click on the same listing each time, you should see it move up in your personal results.

Looks like a new SEO strategy is paying people to click on your sites listing in the search results. If you get 100 people to click on your site and it's on page 8, I wonder if Google will move it up to page 1 or something like that.

OK I am a little confused because of the last few posts.... If people click on your site a bunch of times in the SERPs does it rank higher overall, or does it only affect the people who clicked on your site a lot?

I have no idea. I thought perhaps this might come into question at some point. I really don't know. It was more of a hypothesis.

Its from PC to PC so it wouldn't favor your "true" results.

I still think that over the long term, if people are clicking on your site in the search results more than another site, Google may eventually give your site a boost. Sort of like their Adwords scoring.

I hope you're joking. Please tell me you're joking.

    Yet?

Do you see this possibly being brought in as a ranking factor in the future?
