good keywords convert in search engines where players are looking to take action to begin with.

Now if you have an adsense based site and you manage to get 20k visitors, you've probably made a good chunk of change even with a low click through ratio.
My traffic has increased via Twitter as have my sign-ups. My conversion in that regards seems to be holding steady so far. ie - Visitors:sign-ups. This could be because I have a targeted Twitter list, I don't really know, but I also don't really understand your point here because I do know that more and more searches and link-clicking are happening within social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and StumbleUpon - there are buyers there.

I am always so slow to get on this stuff, thanks for pointing this out.

I guess 6 months or so. I could have a massive list using automated software, but I didn't feel it was a good business idea to have thousands of other internet marketers following me. In fact I think that strategy is horse-s$/"t.

I admit however, it is contrary to the largely accepted notion of accumulating followers fast and being able to market to them, but I just didn't buy into it. When I see the tweets of IMers who have like 40-60,000 followers, I mostly view their stuff as pure nonsense, and to me puts a SPAMmy feel to Twitter.

However, you can control this by keeping your list of followers real and engaged, and your own content valuable.

you're very welcome, i'm mainly trying to raise awareness that many affiliate sites are inadvertently contributing to search engine domination by their revenue sources, specifically in poker, which is not good for the affiliates or the affiliate industry as a whole.
