Default How to tell how many times a keyword has been searched?

Hi there, probably a rookie question and found somewhere else on the forums, but anyways just wondering if there are any easy sites that can tell me how many times a keyword or term has been searched on google in the past year?

It's not 100%, but it does give you a ballpark figure.

To get a more accurate search volume, be sure to use 'Exact' as opposed to 'Broad' under Match Type (drop down menu).

wordtracker.com has a free keyword tool as well that gives average daily searches

the results are a bit different than adwords because i think they are more current whereas the adwords tool gives broader time range averages.

also the free version is limited to top phrases and words and doesn't show anything that gets below around 10 searches per day.

    adwords is NOT correct

adwords search tells you how many times your advert could be viewed if you target those keywords, it does not mean people search that exact keyword that many times.

Adwords is correct for some words and WAY OF for some.
I'm not going to tell the keywords and languages but here are two examples with my estimates based on my positions (1-3) for these words:

Adwords - Wordtracker - My estimate
    12100 - (language not supported by WT) - 2000 /searches per month
    12100 - 5610 - 30000 /searches per month

I'm using this calculation form comparing it with the hits I get.
    Position - CTR
    1 - 26.75%
    2 - 15.20%
    3 - 12.03%
    4 - 8.04%
    5 - 4.86%
    6 - 3.99%
    7 - 3.37%
    8 - 2.98%
    9 - 2.83%
    10 - 2.97%

I guess that some of you that have more keywords in the top 3 can share some more insight here with your keywords without telling the actual keyword.

Wordtracker does not use Google data. They buy data from meta search engines, as I recall.

None of the keyword research tools will give you accurate data but the Google AdWords tool at least gives you data provided by Google itself.

Based on that data you can estimate traffic if you know average CTR.
