I agree, but at this level and being the World Cup, it's the equivalent of the Olympics every 4 years. These things should not happen at this level.

If the ref is really that bad, he should have never been allowed to officiate a World Cup game to begin with.

I'm probably more pissed just because I bet the U.S. to win and it cost me a bit

I wouldn't say he's that bad you couldn't ref the world cup. It was human error. This is why we need to relay on video for these plays. Maybe in the next world cup they will allow video replay.

Yeah, that's probably why you so pissed. Calm down and hope you make big with the next game.

I'm just amazed that the ref's call hasn't been blamed on Obama yet

Well it seemed the announcers on tv thought it was a nightmarish game for that ref in many of the calls. So I would say that its worse than the usual all the time game call.

I think video replays in football games would ruin the game completely. The ref and assistant ref's calls are part of the game and as soon as we start bringing video replays into the game it will take the spirit out of it. Rugby has video replays and I can't stand to watch it, not just because of that though.

What would we have to talk about if we couldn't whine about the ref's decisions? lol

TBH I think the ref's have done an amazing job so far this World Cup. They've made some VERY hard decisions and 90% of them have been right. There have been a few bad calls though including this one and Tim Cahill's sending off against Germany.

Anyway, my point is that this is one of the things that definitely shouldn't be changed in football as it is part of what makes it the best game in the world. Sometimes you get the decision, sometimes you don't. If video replays were brought in then where do you draw the line? Yeah its easy to see from a video replay whether or not the ball crossed the line or whether someone was offside but who makes the call to whether it was a foul or not? or whether it was a yellow or red card? Its not nice when decisions go against you but you'll see just as many go right for you aswell (unless you're a Man Utd supporter and you'll see every decision go in your favour lol).

imo I believe video replay would be great for the game when it comes to hard calls like the one in the usa game. (Not because I want USA to win) The only human error should be players not ref's.

I much rather see a bad kick than a bad call. Players are playing their heart out and ref's are there to do one thing. Make the current calls! Video will help them do so. It just make ref's look bad when the whole world see a ref made the wrong call. Picture how they feel after watching the replay back in their hotel room.

Horrible decision by the ref (yeah, I lost quite a bit due to it). Not a big fan of video replays though since I think it would ruin the rythm of the game.

It was a bad decision but they happen and with England's result today its a real sickener for you guys that it didn't stand, there have been some bad ref's in this the one in the Germany match today was a joke giving cards for everything and anything n then he didn't send off Vidic for the handball is ridiculous..

In last seasons europa league they tested goal line assistants who stand just beside the posts so they see everything that happens in situations around the box and goal, perfect for what happened with the game today and it was a big success, with them there is no need for video replays. I think you will see them used everywhere in the next 2 years. The more you watch and get into football you will see that it is run by ejits like Sepp Blatter who could of easily used them refs for this but didn't.

Default Did The U.S. Just Get Robbed Against Slovenia

But like I mentioned, where does it end?
If a player already has a yellow card and makes a bad tackel who decides if the player should get another yellow or if it's just a foul? We can't be stopping the game every 10 seconds for a replay, and even if we do, who makes the decision? The ref or the guy watching the replay? Some tackles are so clear cut and requires someone (the ref) to make the decision. It's a fast paced game, especially in the premiership and video replays would just slow it down too much.
