    Default Best Poker Software?

Seeing a lot of people here play poker and some may promote some type of software whats the best software on the go these days. I've never used any software before so what kind of features can you get and how can they help your game.

    Thanks

Personally I use Holdem Manager. The two most popular poker tracking software are HEM and Poker Tracker (PT3). I purchased HEM on the understanding that HEM is best for cash games and PT is best for tournament players, although the features are very similar.

They help your game in different ways. One of the more obvious benefits is when multi-tabling. If you are mass multi-tabling, its impossible to observe every player at the table, so the stats will give you a better idea of who you are up against and how they play etc. But you don't base all your decisions on HUD stats, its just another weapon in your poker arsenal.

I think the higher up in stakes you play, the less benefit they provide, since competent players will be using your stats against you. Whereas in lower stakes games, players are very straight forward and will not be adjusting, so its much easier to find their weaknesses and exploit them. They won't even know you are exploiting them.

Away from the table, you can analyze your game to plug leaks, by looking at reports/graphs, seeing how profitable you are in different positions, what hands you are winning/losing with etc.

The answer is PokerTracker. It used to be HEM, but the updates for PT renewed its superior usability.

What's better about it for cash games?

The stats are more thorough, more dynamic, and the HUD is easy to manipulate and use (most important). Besides this, the graphs give many options as well.

I should note that I last used HEM in like 2009, but I never cared for it one bit.
