Default Help me understand Phil Laak's play

It's the last hand in this video High Stakes Poker S07 Ep11 2/2 - Free Poker Videos - Watch Poker Videos for Free

Laak calls Galfonds 3 bet with 77. If you were watching the session, I can completely understand it even if he wasn't doing it to setmine. Galfond could have been tilted after just losing a hand and had shown quite a bit of aggression in the session so could easily be doing this with a wide range.

What I don't get is the flop play. The flop comes down 946 rainbow. If you don't hit your set you can't really ask for a much better flop with 77's. Galfond cbets which he would be doing with 100% of his range on this board and Laak raises. WTF is he repping by doing this? I'm not just saying that because Galfond moved all-in as a bluff, but the play just makes no sense to me. By raising it just folds out the majority of Galfond's bluffs.

You should first realize that Laak is known as a 5/10 live reg (at least what I have seen him in many times), and I'm not even sure if he is a winner in said game.

He is not good and is arguably the worst of all regulars on HSP games. I would very much doubt that he ever buys in with much of his own money.

I'm now convinced Laak is a huge fish how did he make money playing poker. I'd like to see the tourney where he made a big score, he must have runner runnered every hand. Watch the latest Big Game with the Italians in it. 4betting heads up against an aggro player when its obv he is super strong and vs a wide range, and then 3betting pre with 72. FMD he is terrible.
