Default anyone else watch the WSOP Main Event live coverage on ESPN?

I didn't catch it until day 3/4. I really enjoyed the coverage, it was well done and can't wait to see the edited ME coverage in the near future.

Was nice to have a roster of pros and announcers coming through on different days to give insight into hands where you didn't always know what players held and had to guess based on their betting and mannerisms.

I couldn't get into at all, watching poker on TV without being able to see the players hole cards sucks.

What I enjoyed is that instead of only being shown a bunch of "exciting" and standard all-in races.

So you get to see the eb and flow a bit better, some of the more "boring" hands that aren't all-ins but might set up future hands because of the dynamic between players over their history together at the table.

and they did show hands some of the time, just not all of the time. I found it interesting at least, sorry it wasn't your cup o' tea

It was a give and take for me. I think this year's WSOP should be remembered as "The World Series of Tank". Time and time again players were tanking from 4 to 10 minutes. I'd really like to see a shot clock implemented in the WSOP to help get away from all of the tanking.

On the flip side ESPN really made up for this by putting pros in the booth. I especially enjoyed both Antonio and Busquet, with Hellmuth being ok too. Having these guys really saved the broadcast.

Even though I enjoyed the commentary I would like to see a shot clock implemented.

Watched intensely - was more like real poker than when you get to see hole cards. Can take or leave Antonio and Phil but it was pretty exciting and proves that we all make dumb mistakes. That call by Hewitt that crippled him was just so bad for that stage of the game. If he was a dominant big stack it would still have been a very average call.

The time taken to make decisions is incredibly standard and is fine. It is how live poker works, especially in a tournament where every decision is magnified so significantly.

You don't need 10 minutes to make a decision, thats ridiculous.

Very, very few people ever took 10 minutes. It is the other players' prerogative to call the clock if they feel someone is taking too long. It would be a big mistake for the WSOP to implement any type of time restrictions on hands.
