Default Just for the hell of it...

    This hand happened tonight...

I was in LP (2/5 nlhe) with Ac Qc, I am about $1400 deep, effective stacks are $800 (sb), $1200 ish for me and mp. I had no history with either player, mp is probably 25 years old and looked Italian or Spanish, and you're an idiot if you don't think certain nationality people play certain ways, he was kind of loose but not necessarily reckless or bad. Guy opens to $25 in MP. I 3b to $75, sb and mp raiser both call. $235 in pot total now.

Flop is AQ9 rainbow. Checks to me, I bet $160, sb folds, mp calls. Turn is a total brick, mp checks to me, I check back.

River is another brick, board is still AQ and three low cards. The pot is $555 or so right now.

    ...mp leads for $600...

I tried talking to him, said all I lose to is a set etc. He said nothing but looked at me pretty intently and had a half grin/fake smile and nodded his head a little bit when I was saying I only lose to a set, almost a shrug type reply. That's what I had to work with in terms of a read...

Sounds like a story of dude's holding a low pocket pair and played it to the river where he caught trips. I'm gunna guess it was pocket 4s?

He said not necessarily reckless or bad, if that's the case 44 is not even in his range.

He said MP was not necessarily reckless or bad, if that's the case 44 is not in his range.

    Not sure if being serious.

What's his 3 bet calling range?

Not sure that I particularly like this 3 bet this deep when fairly readless.

Please don't tell me your basing this decision purely on the overbet on the river.

If you haven't worked him out, the 3 bet pre is a mistake imo. Why inflate the pot when readless?

Raising here is stupid because you're most often dealing with a bluff or a set. I don't think too much is out of range here for lower sets and a bluff is also probable enough. He's opening to $25 from MP and it comes back to him with $50 to call with $185 still in pot. Then $160 to $395 with the other guy out of the way and a chance to steal pot later. The challenge comes is his bet sizing at the end bet you're getting just short to 2 to 1. I have no idea how these games play, so I can't give advise nor do I care too much about this topic. me personally for gambling I speculate EV a lot to save time, and am completely fine with making -EV wagers on occasion (unknowingly of course) in order to increase volume and profit over long term. Of course this is why I hate poker and would be a losing player (boredom).
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.
