    Default World Cup Betting

Anyone betting on the World Cup? Can't wait until it starts.

I'm thinking about putting something on Sturridge to be top goalscorer for England although something tells me Rooney will finally step up and play well for England so not too sure if I will. They're also in a tough group so won't be too many goals.

I know nothing about soccer other than I'm absolutely glued to it every 4 years when the World Cup goes down, lol. I've never bet myself but I have a few degens every year on my sports betting account that go nutso on their wagers....so I'm hoping for repeat performances in the coming weeks, haha.

Who do you think has the best chance of taking it all this year David? I'm assuming the host country Brazil are the favorites but I haven't really checked the lines or looked at the news about it....

South American teams typically do very well when it's hosted in South America. Hard to go past Brazil or Argentina. But not much value to be had there.

David - are you feeling well today, mate? You've actually referred to England's team without slipping an insult in.

I like the US to accumulate under 3 points in the group stage.

I like Dzeko as the top team goalscorer for Bosnia.

I think I like Lukaku to win the golden boot.

I like Germany to lift the World Cup this year.

Just tell it like it is mate. Against Italy I didn't think they had much of a chance of winning. As it turned out, they were lucky to get to a penalty shootout.

I like your picks except for Germany winning. Germany were strong in the Euro finals although Italy had a tough semi-final. Although I prefer Germany over Spain for a non-South American team to win the WC.

Italy vs England June 14. Yeaaahhhhhaaa.

Oppose England with the English bookmakers is generally a good idea!

I wouldn't touch Argentina at that price. They have an a terrible record in recent World Cups and while they're great going forwards they're definitely suspect at the back. Having a Napoli and Benfica centre half pairing wouldn't instill me with confidence in my full back line. The one thing going for them is they have a great group which should give them a chance to build confidence by hammering the rubbish they're up against. Their first knockout round should also be a walkover versus poor opposition. However I think any of the better teams will find them out. If results go as expected they will be facing Spain in the semis and i can't imagine them beating Spain.

If I was backing a SA team it would have to be Brazil as they have a ridic home record and can be got at attractive enhanced odds at numerous bookies. In that half of the draw, would expect a Brazil vs Germany semi-final though there are a couple of potential banana skins for Germany en route.

I'm more excited about checking my stats remote every morning as I doubt I'll place any bets on the event itself.

I guess as a longshot but hard to see Belgium doing anything against the better teams they will struggle in the midfield.
