Review Request - Rakeback Rolls

Hey everybody, I am sure some of you seen my site by now. I need a review on it. Before we get into that. I would like to say a few things.

1) It's a PAS site. (Yes it is!)
2) It was design by Eyenod.
3) I choose limit holdem because that's what I play.

The site is still no where near done. I just need a review of the homepage content. I really suck at writing up 2 things; home pages and reviews.

What should I change?

looks pretty cool.

Some things that i noticed (since im a perfectionist and a neat freak)

1) I think the black navbar should start where the indent for the second column starts, i duno if that makes sense.

2) Then you can probably use the extra space to make the logo a little bit wider and fill up that placeholder spot.

3) Id probably get rid of the 486 banner. they have super low CTR but i guess it wouldnt harm you.

Apart from that it looks pretty damn nice. GJ.

edit: is the site supposed to be a FL poker school or a rakeback site. I think you really need to define the focus of the site. If u were gonna go for a FL poker school i woulda gone for a different domain because rakebackrolls sounds like the name of a RB site not a poker school.

I like the navbar placement because of the logo size I wanted.

2) Then you can probably use the extra space to make the logo a little bit wider and fill up that placeholder spot.

The banner is there just to let members know what the months promotion is that's all nothing more. Still working on a geo target banner rotator. I have one but it will not fit in the banner slot.

The site is both a FL poker school and a rakeback site. Don't have to be one or the other.

Any comments on the home page content as that is what I need a review on.

Squizzel is right it's really confusing to use that domain name for a site about limit poker. It's werid and I don't think it works, it will confuse your visitors.

Not really, learn limit holdem and get rakeback. How hard is that to understand?

That is one big and fluffed up sentance. Read it out loud - it sounds very odd.

Your second paragraph seems jumpy to me. I think it would be better to tell the visitor check out this page because..... The way it is now sounds like a story almost, like your trying to sell them the article. Introduce the page first, then tell them why they will want to check it out.

Ill likely add some more - and Im terribly sorry Kush - I was gonna give you some pointers via PM. Ive just been swamped today.

Also push some sites more than others. Tell your readers why you recommend one site over others at the same network. I think poker player have wised up to all rooms on a poker affiliate site having the same top rating.

Thanks for the tip. Truthfully I haven't read the home page out loud yet. I will start on the changes asap.

Thanks for your help. I think you right, I was thinking of moving the "Top Limit Holdem Poker Rooms" from the bottom to above the fold. Before I even completed the homepage but I didn't do it. You just confirm my first thought was right.

Yeah, I plan on pushing poker rooms over others base on type of game like cash game, mtt, sng, and heads up. Lots of content will be added to the site.

I think you can make the concept work for sure, the design is definitely attractive.

I love the design, but i agree with doovde and squizzel in that the domain has nothing to do with limit holdem. This isn't necessarily bad, but along with your logo (which I love btw) and the design, I don't see how this in anyway looks like a limit holdem site or makes itself aware that it is one.

Strategy Lessons on the sidebar for example. How am I meant to know you mean limit holdem strategy? I think you should get rid of all your left sidebars and replace them with FIXED LIMIT HOLDEM LESSONS, FIXED LIMIT HOLDEM PROMOTIONS, FIXED LIMIT HOLDEM ROOMS etc.

If you want to just be a rakeback portal with the current design I'd like it. But to say you are a fixed holdem online poker school....you need to prove it and make it more obvious haha.

So, in conclusion it looks like a great rakeback portal with an awesome design and logo. but if you're focusing more on making it a limit holdem strategy site you need changes. I also think you should get rid of the word "Free" in all your titles and sentences, because it just makes it harder to understand.

Edit: Also, I'm nit picking, but what exactly is "Best Limit Holdem info" in your newsletter for? Info could be anything. It doens't sound that enticing. Change it to promotions, tips, deals, news or something.
