What do you guys think about the "Recent news" on the right? Is this column actually worth having?

I have a feeling that removing it (and just leaving "syndicate") would make for less clutter and simplify the page even more. Although I'm not sure if leaving this isn't a good idea in terms of internal linking. What do you think?
