    Default Review Kentucky Derby CTA

I just started a thread on how to split test for outgoing links, but in case there isn't a way to do that I wanted to get some opinions on my main CTA. The Kentucky Derby sign ups will all come today and tomorrow so feedback is appreciated!

The new CTA I uploaded is live at Bet on Kentucky Derby 2011

    Here is the old one:

The live CTA has a little more info and then I added "social proof" as well. The old CTA was more simple and to the point I guess you could say.

Which do you think will work better and why? All opinions welcomed!

Surprised no one has chimed in with any help/opinions.

    Maybe because it's Friday?

Kev honestly I like the old one better. The dotted red lines to me look better, and seem to make it stand out more. I like that you added your picture and a testimonial to the new one, but I don't like the additional 3 sentences with check marks as I think it's just too much. If it was me I would use the old one with your pic and testimonial added in.

And AK if your affiliate business dries up you have a bright future as an Xrumer bot.

Kev I know nothing about horseracing other than I should never second guess a bet but I prefer the old one.

I don't like the testimonial. Whenever I come across a testimonial that hypes up the product I think fail - only because we normally see testimonials / pictures on spam/junk products. I think yours comes across as trying to hard to sell the product.

    Good luck with the race

I like the old one too and what them above said, rather than have the 3 points under I would have a bigger image with the horses racing and there odds, 5Dimes done a good one for ufc 129 >

Something like that but wide if you get me I think would look better.

Thanks guys, I figured out an unconventional way to split test the two versions. I will see how it does tonight and early morning and then switch over to the best converting mid morning. I will post the results here of course. Thanks again

I think the bet now button is too big and I think it would be better with a few red curly arrows pointing at it.

Personally I'd go for the old one - but with the new ones yellow bet now button and the 3 bullet points.

I'd leave out your testimonial or move it in to the page near the bottom. It just seems to big now and a bit salesy which echo's CK's point.

New CTA with testimonial and yellow button = 55 clicks
Old CTA with red button = 38 clicks

Going to give it just a little more time to make sure its the clear winner...

    ------------

    EDIT - UPDATE:

New CTA with testimonial and yellow button = 85 clicks
Old CTA with red button = 48 clicks

CTA with testimonial is the clear cut winner.... wish I had more visits to split test the two, but when it's winning by that much I'm pretty sure it will win in the end.

I would have also loved to try out the new CTA with the old button, and other variations if it wasn't a one day event.
