Default Looking for feedback on my rakeback site.

I must admit that I find it a bit horrifing submiting my site to a forum full of poker site veterans. I'm new to affiliate marketing. This is the 2nd site I've been involved in. I do know that the rakeback market is tough now. My intention is to be ready if and when the US market opens back up.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to look and comment.

    1. Don't mix fonts. You have different fonts in your text. And stay away from Comic Sans.

    2. The logo is a bit odd to me. The websites name is BlueRakeback but the logo is yellow.

    3. Some graphical mistakes:
-The Rakeback calculator is not transparent in the corners.
-Try to make the text in the menu centered instead of left aligned.

    4. Try to work more with SEO. You can do some onpage optimization pretty (Titles, H1-tags, keywords etc).

    Just my 2 cents.

A few things that spring to mind from a fellow newbie -

    1) Definitely change the logo - the text is hard to read with that background and like 1331 has said, it's not really 'blue' related. Also if you made the height less this would bring your page content up and more visible
    2) Avoid Comic Sans, it's a nasty font on or offline and doesn't look professional
    3) Definitely look at your title tags - this is something you can do pretty quickly to improve the onsite SEO
    4) I like the whole 'personal touch' style, but I personally think there's a little too much intro text on the front page. I think you could condense that down to two paragraphs or so and still get the point across. This would also mean your room offers etc. were higher up the page and thus more visible.
    5) With the front page text, bring the 'customer service' bit further up and the homegame bit further down. Also I would ditch the bit about spammers, it's not really relevant
    6) 2nd paragraph, 'there' should be 'their'
    7) I'm not fond of the opening statement "Let me say from the start: THERE IS NO BULL HERE". It comes across as defensive. I think you'd be better off re-writing this whole thing, making it shorter yet keeping the personal touch there.
    8) Keep the font color consistent (there was one article which was in orange which can be tricky to read)
    9) I think the right hand nav bar on the front page would be better used for internal links - currently you've got a big chunk of screen real estate dedicated to your other sites. You could ditch that and put in a footer nav for those perhaps.
    10) The rakeback calculator could do with a bit of text above it ('see how much rakeback you can easily make every time you play poker' or whatever)
    11) What if a visitor is new to rakeback? I couldn't see anywhere that explains it. You may want to include this with a call to action at the end of it.
    12) I'd suggest changing your meta description. Currently the homepage is "Home and garage poker and related. How to run home poker games, How to set up your poker room. Rakeback Ennabled, Playing card selection. Poker table design. Listing of US friendly online poker
    rooms.
" - this isn't concise and most of it isn't relevant to the site itself.

    hope that's of help anyway

I like your No bullshit spiel lol

    There's a spelling mistake,
They are insulting the intelligence of there visitors with (there) should be their hyperbole and untrue statements.

The live game thing a waste of time unless in your district and a kick in the arse/deterrent to signing up to one of your RB deals on offer

Ya logo is horrid not what i expected/imagined bluerake logo would look like

Bluerake first thing comes to mind Blue chip then i see that logo and go whats this Dude on Lol

and the chick you have posted on home page be better if she was bent over
I would look to find a female model with a little more class and have her do the intro

2+2 is one of the top poker forum websites on the net advertising you got banned from them is imo BAD

    there's some potential there dude

other thing is your tabs if u have to many letters the tab blows out when u click on it look to abbreviate tabs

    hope this helps

How many old threads are you planning to bump today to boost your post count? Just wondering.

    hey

Like most peeps I posted my ad in marketplace b4 reading the sticky's

Then after making thread i thought shit I better read market place rules
    I then updated thread

and looked for threads/posts i could reply too

As for the one you have highlighted it was like in the the last 3 to 5 threads under heading review my forum.

As for boosting my thread count Am I not allowed to reply to threads in forum?
Yes I want to reach 30 posts to comply with the forum rules regarding market place

Is there some other criteria i need for the 30 required posts

Bumping threads that are several months old where the conversation has ended simply so you can hit a minimum post count is bad etiquette.

The reason the 30 post requirement exists is not so new members will randomly bump old threads until they hit 30; it's so that only people who have participated in the forums a bit and become familiar to members can participate in the marketplace, because the marketplace requires some level of trust.

Well might be a good idea to close threads that you deemed have ended so IDIOTS like me do not reply to thread.

So in other words if i am wanting to buy something from the market place i am required to have 30 posts for some level of trust?

I like the content here and the reasonable prices on offer for material and weather i sell my listings or not here i will continue to participate in this forum as there seem to be alot of people that have years of experience in the business with lots of knowledge to share

So come on please be more friendly etc....

dont worry, parttimepoker is now the sheriff in town and try to bump his own message count ...by simply going through and annoy other people with bumping over bumping
