    Default Feedback on all-in-one Site

    Hi folks,

I started my site Online Gambling Bible - Poker, Casino, Bingo, Sports Betting in February and I've just tipped the 100 page mark now and wanted to get some feedback. I got some of the initial content written for me, mostly the reviews and some generic articles, but since then I've written almost everything myself.
I'm just a bit miffed because I'm only getting 2-3 search visits a day, which is pretty shit for a 100 page site. I know a lot of the stuff isn't revolutionary but I thought I'd be picking up some long-tails at least. I know the design isn't great, but I don't want to go spending lots on a design for a site that might never get any Google love.
Basically I'm just looking for any tips people may have. The direction I intend to go in is to continue adding the converting pages like deposit methods and reviews but also to put a lot of focus on the ongoing stuff, articles dealing with casino and poker room promotions and previewing up-coming sporting events and including betting tips.
In terms of links, I haven't really done much. I bought a couple of blog posts on here but stopped once Panda came around. I'm thinking of buying a few directory links, but I'm not sure if they pass any juice or are worth the money.
Anyway, all feedback is welcome. I'd especially like to know if you think that if it's not ranking by now it's never going to

Could easily wait several more months before picking up traction with Google based on my experience.

Problem is, lots of other sites have the content you describe and are likely doing what you describe in terms of an ongoing content strategy - so why would your content push up above what's already out there? That's a question you need to answer.

Wouldn't spend money on directory links personally.

Hits the nail on the head.

Think you need to find either:

A previously unused angle with which to present your information. Your own 'reason to be'...

Or find an angle which might have been covered before but you could do it (much) better.

Currently the content looks ok...but essentially the same as you'd find on a hundred other sites.

What's wrong with design? Think it's nice.

Yep standard site. Check out Quick Sprout, Neil Patel has some cool tips on making your site unique and he's the boss when it comes to content guidelines. A lot of the link building will not apply to you because let's face it, gambling is the dirty hooker of online marketing and needs a whole different approach.

Just having a quick look I would personally make the header a lot smaller. It takes up nearly half my laptop screen in the browser, which is a lot of wasted real estate about the fold.

Not sure if you mentioned how long the site has been live but I would give it 6-12 months before you should be expecting much traffic. Try and build only quality links slowly for the first little while, and make sure your on page SEO is solid.

with a newish site , i recommend writing time sensitive stuff to start with , particularly with sports section

for example, one of my sites only got started in jan/feb. ive been slowly adding time sensitive stuff to it along with the generic stuff

march madness got me around 7-10k views in the sites second month and euro has given me over 20k page views so far , but more importantly , im getting traffic from 100's of search engines from everywhere around the world

this is then enabling me to get enough stats to start analysising and becoming more targeted

i dont buy or trade for links either , so this is all organic growth, as I follow the randy ray, prop, michael gospel of writing for an audience , rather than worrying about what search engines are doing.

i only link out sparingly to sportsbooks too, and mostly text links while the site matures, which is also getting natural links that actually get clicked from their source , which obviously appeals to google alot more than all these links that never get clicked on, (to me a sure signal of SE manipulation attempts)

    hope this helps

as for the design, i havent even got around to getting it done properly and have a pretty bland design on it atm
