    Default Will this convert?

Ok so this is a brand new site so forgive the lack of development.

I just need to know, in your opinion will this sort of site design and display of information convert? betfairbonus.org

The problem I thought about with targeting Betfair Bonus is that it may include both poker, sports betting and casino related bonuses, so I have to provide information on them all.

I'll be adding some more articles etc, but just need to know if this design will work.

    thanks,
    adam

I don't understand, just make the page so that the code is blatantly obvious and the instructions are crystal clear. This site is built like a news website or something where I should be skimming for what I want, but in reality I know what I want, but don't know where to find it.

You should put yourself in your visitors shoes and write down 3 or 4 things that you expect to find when you get to your website after searching for a term like "betfair bonus". When you know what they want, deliver it without any hassle.

You should have a really simple template with the simple bonus information and how to get it right in your face on the homepage. It will be good for both conversions and usability. Then have secondary information on subpages linked from the navigation somewhere. The website should be so simple that you shouldn't even plan on having both a sidebar and a top menu navigation, just one or the other.

The current template you have now is kinda the opposite of what you want to use. Find a really, really basic one and you'll get off on the right foot.

    No.

Also when you ask for feedback, I recommend that you leave it "as is" while you get feedback rather than make changes. It's a bit frustrating writing up a feedback post, only to refresh the site before posting and see that some of the things you have commented on have now changed.

Sorry Graeme. I left the post up for more than a day, and after getting two negative responses this morning figures i may aswell change it now. Not really sure "how long" I should leave post before making changes lol, I do know you in particular tend to give thorough excellent advice on these type of threads so apologies for that.

Well what I mean is I saw your latest post asking if its okay about 20 minutes ago and I opened up the URL. Started to write up some stuff, then refreshed and noticed things had changed, like the banner on the side was gone(and now its apparently back but a different banner), some changes to the nav bar.

At a quick glance, I think I can probably name at least 10 things wrong with this page. Don't change the page - have a good look at it, and try and come up with a list of 10 things as well. Think about everything on the site, and the purpose of it, and the functions of it.

be alot easier if you just told me, i got a dissertation title to be getting on with. On first glance, I'm not sure i can name 10 things. i guess maybe a header, more "Why" you should deposit/play here commentary, get rid of the comment bar (which i tried to do), maybe provide more information articles (which i said i was going to do).

erm, cant think of much more. i know you gauge your eyes out at the basic wp theme, so maybe that too lol.

..maybe u think there should be a "!" on the casino bonus title, and the poker banner allowing you to choose your bonus is confusing?

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

I can sit here and tell you all the things I find wrong with the site, and what you should do to fix it. But you know what happens then? People will usually blindly follow that advice, not questioning it, not fully understanding it. They follow the advice because they trust the person that gives the opinion. And you know what? It may help in the short run - it may help with this site. But in the long run it won't help you, because the next site you launch you'll still have the same problems. Everything you do, you need to understand as to why you are doing it, what the purpose of it is etc.

    I'll help start you off:

#1: The thumbnail images betfair-poker-logo.gif and betfair-sports-betting.gif are both clickable, and bring up a bigger version of the image. Is this your intention? I'd personally be using those to link to Betfair, because people click on thumbnails and it's a good way to get people to the sportsbook. If your intention is for people to see bigger versions of the thumbnails, then you should use a lightbox where you can get an additional call to action which is right there and easy to click(as opposed to having to click back on your browser to visit), plus it decreases the chances of people closing the website after seeing the image, especially with standard navigation on a lot of websites now seeing the image open in a new window(thus the 'default' when they are finished looking at the image is to close the current tab/window).
