Regarding price, there are 2 parts and this thread mostly referred to domain registration.

So godaddy domain registration is around 25$ including whois privacy and coupon codes seem to have...

Anyway there is no need to use godaddy, their prices are horrendous.

What I see from your email is they took off private registration (Is it what Private Registration Services mean?). They can also take off your hosting/site. But they cannot take away your domain...

If I read OP correctly it is just suspended, not taken away. Registrars are not allowed to take away domains just like that.

Suspension does not mean anything, often it means it was hacked. Better ask godaddy support about the details. If no legal issue/complaint was started, it should not be severe.
