321,
It's obvious you think Righthaven is awesome. Great! And it's equally as obvious you want to drag me through the mud by implying that I support copyright infringement.
So, let's make it...
For the third or fourth time....
And this....
You know, instead of calling me a liar, try doing your own research. I'm tired of your trolling, it gets boring after a while.
The OP posted a snippet and a link to the rest of the story. A third party posted the rest of the article in the comments section....
I think this is pretty specific. It clearly states IPR had printed a few lines and linked back to the original source.
I can only speak for myself as to whether it makes sense to settle even though you're innocent.
The suits are generally in the $75,000 range and apparently can be settled for several thousand...
This is the only settlement made public to date, that I can find...
To say the ones who settled did so because they're most likely guilty... that's a pretty big assumption to make.
Righthaven is offering to settle for a fraction of what it would take to fight the...
I've quoted a link several times now Randy...
Ballot Access News Blog Archive Independent Political Report Pays Steep Penalty for Minor So-Called Copyright Infraction
In this case, Righthaven is offering to settle for less than the cost to mount a defense. they have even admitted it's all about the money. I believe there have been around 30 cases settled...
Then why post the link?
Care to elaborate?
Waht??
I have been a victim of article theft. And it cost me search rankings. And I lost money as a result. I don't really understand what your point is... sorry.
You're calling my arguments...
Well prop, to flip the coin back, 321 is attacking the webmasters who are being sued more than I'm attacking Righthaven.... :)
If you're referring to mojo here, you're way out of line. What happened to "innocent until proved guilty"? Did you actually see the article on her site?
You have a habit of selectively choosing qiotes that suit your argument. Here, I'll spoon feed the info to you....

I'm defending innocent victims of Righthaven's overzealous legal team. It's my opinion that Righthaven are the thieves.
The "losing" comment was pointed toward to jd for his comment earlier...
Who decides how many lines? And saying those who post small bits and get wrongfully sued will win so it doesn't matter is naive. It certainly matters to the people forced to spend their hard earned...
I'd say this was pretty personal... pretty much called me a liar and lumped me in with thieves.
What? Clearly it's you who is not understanding. I provided proof that they are suing bloggers who complied with "fair use". They used snippets of text and provided links back! READ THE ARTICLES!...
But this thread is about the ridiculous lawsuits Righthaven has filed.... I'm not sure what point you're trying to make in the above comment....?
What's bizarre is the way you twist the facts to suit your argument and the sad part is, when you begin to lose, you resort to personal attacks.
Steve,
It's the 2p2 mentality... no sweat, been down that road before. That's the reason I post so little here, or there, but sometimes the issues are important enough to ignore the shit...
Seriously? So it's ok these guys are suing innocent bloggers? They can counter sue and obviously win, so that makes it alright? Come on!!
LMAO - what's with the personal attack? I didn't make up the stories. The issue here is NOT thieves who steal complete articles. If it were, I'd be supporting the effort. The issue is this...
