Default Sportsbook Promotion - Outside Of "Lines"

I know nothing about sportsbetting, but I've got a site in the pipeline for April that explores aspects of depositing and cashing out from Sportsbooks.

Is it an issue? I realize cashing out can be an issue at some skins - but what are players looking for to signup?

I hear this is a tough vertical as players are leary to click on affiliate links.

    Is bonus a concern?

    Very tricky

Most sportsbooks while they promote their bonuses actively in fact take a very dim view of bonus hunters, it is and has always been a great source of contention.

The best way to view this is to attract sign ups via bonus offers but to also try and encourage them to continue to use the sportsbooks therefater.

To have a website that concentrates on bonuses and then cashout will lead you to problems i believe, offer the bonuses by all means but go easy on encouraging cashouts.

By this i mean yes show them how to cashout but at the same time show them other aspects of a sportsbook otherwsie the affiliate programs may view your site has a site that encourages bonus hunters.

A potential issue in the US is that a lot of sites don't want information posted. For example if you say my xxx credit card worked, or hey i got a check that was from bank xxx and it cleared no problem.. you'll find they'll ask you to remove it.

On the big sports forums this is considered sensitive data and mods edit when anything questionable is method.

Sites have VIP deposit methods too. I have one that sent me an actual terminal I can plug in and swipe my credit card (no joke). I'm not a big bettor with them but I've had an account since 1999 and bet a couple hundred per game. I'm a career winner not eligible for bonuses at this book either.

So my point is, what you can include on your page promoting US sportsbooks (as far as banking is concerned) is limited to what is very easy to find on that sportsbooks website (If its buried deep it usually is for a reason), otherwise your site is doing more of a disservice to American market than it is a service.

I'm not saying it can't work. Perhaps vague is enough. I'm just bringing it up so that you have this information to consider when making your decision.

I've never had a problem getting clicks and signups - especially after they've been on site for a few repeat visits.

But if you really don't know much about sportsbetting or sportsbooks, then it's going to be hard to get the "trust" of visitors and write with the naturalness required to get them to value your opinions.

As with most things in business - you'll do best with areas that you have a strong interest or passion in.
