So you're targetting a specific sporting event that only takes place once a year.

You have a list of pages lets say they are

Sporting Event Odds
Sporting Event Tips
Sporting Event Predictions
Sporting Event Betting
Bet on Sporting Event

What's the best protocol when it comes to putting the date in there eg 'Sporting Event Odds 2010'? Do you want the date to be in your title tag and on page or do you just want the date to be on the page?

Here is how I'd approach it:

You do want to include the year in the content - Of course include the year as awell as the exact date in the content for some longtail traffic.

You may want to the year in your title _ Trial and error would work best. Some sites and events I see people searching with the date, sometimes you may want to leave it on in the content.

You don't want to include the year in your URL - If its an event happening each year you probably don't want to make a page YourSite.com/EventOdds2010. Instead just make it /EventOdds and include the 2010 in the title tag and content, that way you can SEO the same page each year.
