    Default In-Play Betting

    My first post

This is something I posted in GPWA and I wanted to get your opinions too...

I just wanted to perform a quick 'show of hands' style experiment and ask the sportsbook affiliates out there:

Do you or would you ever promote in-play sports betting?

The reason I ask is because it seems more and more companies out there are focusing on in-play betting, primarily because of its bigger profit margins. It seems bookies make more money from in-play bets because the user bets on impulse and more with their heart than their head. This is why we see the likes of Bet365 investing ridiculous amounts of money to advertise nothing but their in-play product on TV.

That being said, I don't see too many affiliates out there who push in-play betting, even though there is the potential for them to get more bang for their buck.

    Thoughts please?

I see a strong future in the combination of mobile devices and in play betting - being at the bar enjoying a beer with 5 minutes on the clock and tossing a bet on a longshot could become as common as anything else. It brings a more social aspect to betting in that context in my opinion.

I think the in play betting is going to be huge in the future but at the moment there isn't many options if you wanna promote in play betting. Bet365 and Bwin are the only ones in my opinion with a live betting platform worth mentioning.

If you look at other sportsbooks like Ladbrokes and William Hill they are million miles away from being able to compete in this market.

When it comes to the US market I have only really tried SportsInteraction and I wasn't impressed with the platform and even less impressed with the odds offered.
The best World Cup Betting site IMO Try this Awesome Keyword Research Tool and find new niches with low competition.

In-play betting has been huge for years in the UK but most affiliates ignore it for some strange reason.

In the UK we are years ahead of US affilates who simply think that Bet365 is the best sport betting site by far.

Forget Bet365 who have IMO a crazy negative carry over policy and created a quality in-play betting site and you will not go wrong!

Totesport is a great brand but simply do not offer enough markets in my opinion.

A good example is that Totesport sponsored Fish 'o' Mania but only had the odds online days after other sites had posted them.

In regards to in-play betting this is something I have been invloved with for many years especially trading sports bets. Totesport and the likes of Bet365 have a lot of catching up to do compared to the likes of Betfair.

Do people search for in play betting related terms? I don't know I haven't looked. I always assusmed it was just something people expected of sportsbooks these days. I wouldn't be impressed as someone who bet's on sport and is an affiliate as well if I signed up to a new betting site and there were no live betting options.

Not many with the 3 kid domains being already taken. But there are about 2400 searches a month.

I think in regards to UK players you are spot on although I'm not so sure for US players.

In regards to in-play betting we know that there are may decent key phrases to target other than simply "in-play betting". We understand about trading sports bets, over and unders, backing and laying, trading on important game points etc.

Also the actual in-play odds vary from site to site with some offering very little value compared with betting exchanges.

I could go on but I know I will end up creating another site which I simply don't have the time to do.
